     Mission Control, lift-off, human artifacts, missions, land rovers, spacecraft, astronaut, craters,

 

3. Learning Sequence:

     a. Teacher will give students a background story of the Apollo 11 flight that landed on the moon.

     b. Students will then be given the task to go back to the moon and investigate what human artifacts "space junk" have been left on the moon. They are to come to a consensus as to the name of their manned spacecraft. They will then go on a simulated countdown and lift-off. They will have an itinerary of what they will be investigating: Google Moon Round Trip Investigation Worksheet.

     c. Mission Control will review the itinerary: Students will work in teams to gather information. They will first go to:

          1. Go to Moon Gallery and go to their first mission: Apollo 11 "One Small Step" video,

          2. Go to Missions and see last Apollo mission #17.

          3. They will then investigate Human Artifacts "lunar spacecraft" 

          4. Then they will look at photos, and street views of the Moon.

     d. Students will return to earth after investigation is over and mission is complete.

Assessment: The Investigation worksheet is part of assessment as well as student observation of the lesson.
