New Year's Resolutions!

• What is my resolution for school? What is my resolution for home?
• Have the students brainstorm goals for the New Year by using MAPS/7 Habits to be a better leader and learner.
• Have students write out their resolution using Microsoft Word. Introduce the following:
• Blank new document

• I resolve to be a better learner by 

• I resolve to be a better leader by
  

• Capital letters (Shift key)
• Spell Check
• Introduce WordArt for the title
• Introduce Format/Font/Size by using Toolbox and Formatting Palette
• Introduce Object Palette by having students select one shape for the resolution
• Have students insert a text box to write their resolution
• Have students insert a picture from clip art
• Have students use Spell Check to check their resolutions
• Have teacher check before they print...
• Use MS Word Resolution Checklist for this project.... 
• When students have completed their resolutions they can do the following:
• Let's take a look at real snowflakes! Snowflakes!
• Snowflake Photo Gallery!
• Let's go to a snowflake factory and create our own snowflakes! SnowFlake Factory!
• Let's try a snowflake designer! SnowFlake Designer
• This time let's use virtual scissors to cut out your own snowflake! Snow Days!
• Let's build a SnowMan!!

Students will use the following applications and links today:

Continue with resolutions.
