At Carpet:

Present Powerpoint of MLK show the first three slides

While presenting the PowerPoint to students show how each slide has image and information that match.
3. Review (Student Links on the right)
Review how they can use Search Engine: KidRex Search Engine Show the example: when was MLK born?(use MLK instead of Martin Luther King) in search box..show how students can find answers.
4. Review the following links on the student side as they can also use these 2 sources to research information:
Do this with them. This is the first PowerPoint research project so you will guide them with the first slide....ALL IMAGES WILL BE DONE NEXT WEEK....
At Computers:
Have students open their Powerpoint from student folders (MLK powerpoint template.)
1. TSW begin researching and completing the PowerPoint Slides.

In large group on the carpet:
1. Introduce Dr. Seuss Brainpop
Watch Brainpop on Dr.Seuss
2. Brainstorm all the Dr. Seuss books the students have read
3. Watch the Cat in the Hat (Safeshare link)
It is already downloaded and on the dock!
4. If time allows have students work on student links at their computer.
*On kerpoof the students are to create a brand new hat for the Cat in the Hat
and a second drawing they can create a new cleaning machine....
2. Review each of the student links with the students so they know what to do before allowing students to go to individual computers:
