Learning Sequence:

 at the carpet:

  1.  View BrainPop or Dr. Seuss video before beginning.

     

  2. Begin class with this video on solar system

  3. Introduce the Solar System with BrainPop Solar System.

  4. Introduce the inner planets.

 
Bill Nye: The Planets

 

5. If time allows Open up the Solar System LiveBinder

and introduce the 4th grade mission student project. Go over each of the tabs and have students begin with assigning a planet at the carpet.(Use random generator to assign planets. It is on the Class Dojo computer on the other wall) Write down which planet was assigned to each student.

 

6. At individual computers. Have students login. Begin with the 4th grade Mission and download the PowerPoint Template. Save to desktop.

  1. REVIEW PLANET POWERPOINT BY HAVING STUDENTS COMPLETE INFORMATION THAT IS ON EACH SLIDE WITH THEIR NOTE CARDS OR BY USING LIVEBINDER FOR PLANET FACTS, IMAGES, OR SEARCH ENGINES: KIDREX/SAFESEARCH....Planet PowerPoint Template

 

At computer:

Dismiss students to computers to do the following.  

2. Open up the LiveBinder 

go to 3rd grade mission. Have students open their  the PowerPoint Template on their planet research.  HAVE THEM OPEN UP POWERPOINT AND LIVEBINDER SIDE BY SIDE!

 

3. Have students use the livebinder to find this information or their individual classroom index cards. Have them save their work before logging out. All information can be found in livebinder and search engines all of which are on the livebinder. Have them use images from Planet Images-use gallery for each individual planet.
