CREATE A POWERPOINT SLIDE.

 

 

This week: Select an animal
TSW  practice  "f" and "j" keys on keyboard
TSW   create  PowerPoint on research of a different and unusual animal
TSW   use  shift/command/4 shortcut to capture image
TSW   research
HABITATS OF THEIR ANIMAL

 

Unit Goal:

TSW use one search engine and one content website to gather information.

TSW present with PowerPoint and Blabberize

Intro to Powerpoint: open document,

font, size, spacing,new slide,insert  

 

3. Learning Sequence:

 

At Carpet

 

****Create a Tagxedo of their teacher. Have students brainstorm words, sentences about what they love about Mrs. Kinsella. Write all of these

on a Word Document. When done have students go to computer. If time allows after they have left the lab. Complete a tagged and save to desktop and you may print with photo paper. make sure you save the word document to desktop. On tagxedo to keep sentences and word strings (field trips) together you must place a ~ tilde in front of each word in the string or sentence and between each word and end with a tilde. 

Begin the tagxedo with create/load to input information

Enter her name like this 5 times so that it is the largest word on cloud. (no periods)

For example:

Check out virtual zoos first then begin lesson sequence.

Show BrainPop biomes first

Show Safari Montage on Habitats!

Show BrainPOP on habitats  

 

2.  Show how to go to LiveBinder and A-Z animals and find their

animal.

 

3. Find out about their animal habitat

    Find where the animal is found

4. Find out what your animal eats

5. Find 5 facts about your animal 

 

At Computer:

1. Open up PowerPoint and LiveBinder place them side by side on desktop.

2. Have them finish researching their animal research.

Check each student as they are working. If they are finished please check for spelling, etc. 

Have students work on websites on the student link section only when they have completed their PowerPoints.

Student will use the livebinder below to begin research

project.
