a. Ask students: Do they have traditions in their own homes? Special foods,do they open a gift on Christmas Eve?

Do they celebrate Hannukah or do they not celebrate this holiday at all? compare and contrast their traditions...

2. Begin with Brainpop on Winter Holidays 1

3. Then watch the second half on culture: Brainpop winter holidays 2

 

 

4. Listen to the Polar Express by VanAllsburg on online storytime scroll for the story on the livebinder.

 

5. If time allows, check out Christmas Around the World.

by Patricia Wolf then students can create a new Santa on Paint program
