2. Before students begin have teacher remind students of the closed reading strategies they will be using. 

  • Students must have paper for rough drafts.

  • Read Directions

  • Bold or italicized words/captions/titles

  • Read questions first

  • Point out all the tools that are available during test

  • Do not waste time playing with the tools

  • HAVE PAPER READY FOR ESSAY ROUGH DRAFT
